The term “special educational needs” or SEN is used to describe children with learning difficulties, or disabilities that can turn studying into a challenge which with the help of dedicated staff, expertise and appropriate training can benefit them.

This Level 3 Certificate in the Principles of Special Needs will provide learners with the knowledge and understanding to analyze and address the different challenges that SEN teachers and social workers are likely to encounter. Learners will also understand working with individuals and with small groups as well as gaining essential insight into supporting pupils with special educational needs (SEN) to achieve their very best learning potential.
